GIS/GPS Services
The development department staff at Buckeye Hills offers GIS and GPS services to our constituents in the region. These services include census mapping, public boundary mapping, as well as maps customized for nearly any need. The GIS staff at Buckeye Hills is able to utilize data from many sources throughout the state of Ohio such as ODNR, ODOT, various county engineers, USGS, and other bodies active in the district and in the state. Buckeye Hills also offers topographical maps, aerial imagery, and other standard or specialized mapping products. These specialized maps can be used to analyze statistics, understand trends, and to aid in the overall decision-making process of local leaders and stakeholders. Maps are available in digital or print format (up to 11 x 17 color). Buckeye Hills utilizes ESRI ArcGIS software (3.x, 8.x, 9.x) to produce, manage, and distribute maps and associated map data.
For highly specialized projects Buckeye Hills offers in-house GPS asset location services. Specialized data is captured using a Trimble Geo XT sub-meter handheld GPS unit and associated software. Examples of captured data for applications are; storm drains, fire hydrants, waterlines, valves, lift stations, project boundaries, height above MSL approximations, and others. This GPS data has been used to complete projects/ studies for FEMA, EPA, local Water and Soil Districts, local water companies, and fire departments.
