Since 1974, Buckeye Hills has served the region as one of Ohio’s twelve Area Agencies on Aging. The mission of our Aging + Disability programs is to advocate for and educate older adults, people with disabilities, and their caregivers.
Buckeye Hills is also the designated Southeast Ohio Aging & Disability Resource Network (ADRN), ensuring that consumers get the right services, at the right time, in the right setting. The ADRN’s vision is a centralized, client-focused collaboration of service providers that advocates for the client through a streamlined referral process, ensuring all options are made available to the client.
Through our varied programs and services, we promote long-term care choices and consumer protection so older adults and people with disabilities can take advantage of opportunities that enable them to maintain wellness, independence. and dignity.
In 2017, our Aging + Disability programs served 4,734 seniors and invested $16.8 million in total service dollars into southeast Ohio.
Regional Advisory Council
The Regional Advisory Council (RAC) serves as a liaison between Seniors and their local County Councils on Aging. The RAC is formed of representatives from those County Councils on Aging and other Buckeye Hills appointees. Together, the RAC sets a strategic direction for the future growth of our Area Agency on Aging by approving the Strategic Area Plan, convening to problem solve shared issues, and forming a united voice for advocacy.
