Clean Ohio Funding Applications Now Available
ENVIRONMENTAL CONSERVATION FUNDING APPLICATIONS
NOW AVAILABLE VIA CLEAN OHIO PROGRAM
Marietta, OH (2019) – Applications and guidelines are now available for applicants in Athens, Belmont, Hocking, Meigs, Monroe, Morgan, Muskingum, Noble, Perry and Washington counties interested in funding the preservation of open spaces, sensitive ecological areas, and stream corridors via the Clean Ohio program of the Ohio Public Works Commission.
Eligible projects include the purchase of open space and the cost associated with making them accessible to the general public, protection of stream corridors, providing wildlife habitat, and reducing erosion.
Eligible applicants include local governments, park and joint recreational districts, conservancy districts, soil and water conservation districts, and nonprofit organizations with a purpose in conservation and/or preservation.
The Natural Resources Assistance Council (NRAC) reviews all grant submissions and makes recommendations for awarded funds from the Clean Ohio program, dedicated to environmental conservation including acquisition of green space, the protection of rivers and stream corridors, and the enhancement of rivers and stream corridors.
